Reflect. Rethink. Reinvent.

A Note About The Artist

Christina Maglaras is an artist living in New York City. Her interest in the visual arts was nurtured from a young age by trips to museums and exhibits as well as classes in painting and drawing. As her interest grew, she began to develop her own portfolio of work exploring various mediums and concepts. She tackles issues like current events, mental health, relationships with loved ones, and a spectrum of emotions as well as sounds in her pieces.  Her inner life weaves throughout most of her paintings, drawings, sketches, and collages. Each work stands unique; sometimes bathed in light; sometimes devoid of color. She invites viewers to expound their own meaning and explore her art from within themselves.

In addition to her own artwork, she has taken part in programs teaching art to children in Uganda, as well as middle schoolers within her school community.  She has cultivated her passion in art schools like Oogie Art and through her work with artist Henry Gabriel Anker. Christina is leading the New York City Art Crawl, an initiative to expand her school's appreciation of art through educational visits to over ten galleries all around the city's five boroughs. She is also humbled to have been selected to exhibit her artwork next to artists she admires in the Washington Art Association in Washington Depot, Connecticut. Finally, the artist has had the extreme fortune to intern under the Master Printer at the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University.
